Initiatives

Here are some of the initiatives we have started to put our collective effort behind bearing good fruit in our community that strengthens our youth, open doors, promotes wellness, and builds community.

  • Colorful artwork and children's drawings displayed on a beige wall in an art classroom.

    Praying in the Spirit

Praying in the Spirit: Nurturing Children in Three Communities, One Neighborhood” is a new five-year collaboration among three culturally diverse congregations in South Minneapolis, empowered by a Lilly Endowment grant to deepen children’s engagement in worship and prayer. Together, these churches will create culturally rooted, arts-infused faith formation practices that nurture children, strengthen families, and model shared leadership for the wider church.

  • Collage of four diverse people, two men and two women, with a central orange diamond-shaped overlay that reads 'Belonging, a project in collaboration with A Peace of My Mind', against a black background.

    Belonging Project

San Pablo - St. Paul’s with photojournalist John Noltner, gathered portraits of members in our community and neighbors, asking: “When was a time you felt a sense of belonging?” We compiled 54 portraits, 13 of which are now 12-foot-high banners on the exterior of the building facing 28th Street. John sat down with four of our featured participants and interviewed them to share a bit more in depth about their sense of belonging and dreams for community.

  • A group of children and an adult in a garden or community farm, looking at plants, with trees and houses in the background.

    Healing Garden & Shalom Garden

  • A church with a tall steeple in the background and a street fair with tents, people, and flowers in the foreground.

    Find Wellbeing

Children crossing the street at night, led by an adult holding a star-shaped lantern, with houses, trees, and a church tower visible in the background under a cloudy sky.
